Faith Formation

We believe that faith formation is a lifelong process that meets us wherever we are on life's journey.

God calls us to be constantly learning and growing in our faith. We meet this challenge in order to love God and our neighbors as best we can. We do this by engaging in ongoing opportunities for every age to learn alongside others in Christian community.

In every generation, God is still speaking,

BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 2024:

Godly Play

Preschool-3rd Grade

Godly Play is a Montessori-style learning environment focused on the needs of children at this place on life’s journey. The Godly Play approach teaches classical Christian language in a way that enhances the child’s authentic experience of God. Our teachers ask questions, wondering aloud about stories and ideas, and encourage creative play.

Godly Play meets weekly in Room S-4 (the third room on the right side of the hallway) to meet the week's Welcomer and Storyteller for the day's lesson.

Whirl

4th-8th Grade

Whirl is a multi-age classroom that uses a curriculum by Sparkhouse to teach Bible stories and continue children’s growth in faith. This class encourages children to ask questions, interpret Scripture in community, and connect with God and one another, using videos that follow the Whirl characters' adventures.

Whirl meets weekly in Room S-6 (the last classroom on the left side of the hallway) to meet their class leaders and share in the day's lesson.

Growing Faith
with Youth and Adults

St. John offers opportunities for youth and adults to gather in community and growing in faith. Studying today's world-shaping moments and engaging in history's points of interest, we find time together to answer what God is calling us to be and to do "in a time such as this."

Our premiere weekly gathering takes place on Sundays from 9:00-9:45 am. Other opportunities and meeting times vary throughout the week and season. Please reach out through this link to learn about what groups are currently meeting.
